Introducing the Young Soul Rebels…
| You may have noticed many of Proporta’s MP3 players shown on the site, show a variety of Young Soul Rebel songs being played on the devices. This may have left you wondering to yourself…“Who are the Young Soul Rebels”? | |||
| Proporta welcomes creativity in their staff – and there are many music enthusiasts amongst the team. Proporta once employed Sam from the Ordinary Boys, probably better known to you as Preston – now we have another set of stars in our midst… | |||

| The Rebels formed in the rain-sodden summer of 2005, and honed a sound borne from their inherent Britishness and nostalgic musical persuasions. Think 80s indie hailing from our fair isle and you're edging closer. These boys don't sing about life under the Iron Lady, but they certainly cast a nod towards the echoes of time gone by. | |||
| Young Soul Rebels are no 80s throwbacks however. Sure, Dexy's may have been searching for them, but they bring a safe sound to a new era and make it sound brand new. A self-confessed punk/indie hybrid – too much of one to be the other – the seaside quartet pose melancholy musings overlaying jangly guitars which leak undiluted energy. | |||
The last twelve months has seen YSR embark on a high-profile tour with The Ordinary Boys and The Automatic (whipping up a veritable storm as they went), recruit a gaggle of fans via MySpace and word of mouth to dance non-stop in a sweaty Brighton basement for a video shoot and garner a sturdy reputation as a band with both dedication and potential.

| ‘Same Song Same Sight’ tells tales of the monotony of life and those who choose to do nothing about it; propping up the bar in the same old haunts and watching everyone around get stuck in their ways. The self-released 7” hits shelves on December 18th and features a remix on the b-side. |
| With a fantastic work ethic and overly productive song-writing abilities, it won’t be long until an album drops. So get down to a live show and watch the Rebels doing what they do best. | |||
| Look out for Danny…he’s ours. | |||
