Apple Releases its New Generation iPhone SE
22/04/2020

Last week, Apple announced the launch of its eagerly anticipated, new generation SE (not to be confused with the original SE, released back in 2016 - ask your mum). This latest release from the tech trailblazers appears to be an attempt to fulfil mass-market demand. With a price tag of only £419, the iPhone SE comes at an affordable price, but with many of the high-tech features that we are accustomed to expecting from Apple.

But don’t be fooled. Although this new bit of kit comes in a lot cheaper than many of Apple’s recent releases, it is by no means wanting in the tech spec department.

The new iPhone SE looks exactly like the iPhone 8. It boasts the same 4.7-inch display with thick bezels at the top and bottom, with the bottom bezel acting as the Touch ID home button.

Unlike many of the latest iPhone Flagships, the SE has just a single-lens rear camera. It boasts an impressive 12-megapixel with an f/1.8 aperture but unfortunately doesn’t possess the night mode features that the iPhone 11 models do.

The SE boasts the same A13 Bionic chip that the iPhone 11 contains. This is the fastest chip in a smartphone to date, containing a dedicated 8-core neural engine that can perform 5 trillion operations per second. In non-techy language: IT’S REALLY FAST.

So, there you have it. Apple’s latest answer to an affordable, high-tech spec smartphone. We think it stands up pretty well, and despite the lower price point it still boasts some great tech features. And let’s face it, for half the price of the iPhone 11, you could do a lot worse.
